PROGRAM DETAILS

You are welcome to bring your cello or contact us for a local rental!

Arrive by 6pm on Sunday, July 21 for dinner / orientation.

Departure is Sunday, July 28 after checking out of the dorms (10am)

Please bring clothing and shoes for hiking and outdoor activities.

Concerts and Masterclasses

Students will participate in 3 to 4 group performances as well as solo performances.  Dress will be all black. Chairs and stands are not needed unless you'd like to bring them.

The Vieve Gore Concert Hall and the Jones Recital Hall at Westminster University will be the venues for campus performances and recordings.

Recording

Recording Fee: $250/hour. Students are not allowed to do several takes. Most recordings are $100 or less and depend on the length of the piece.

ACI hires a recording artist for camp. Students who come prepared with pieces they want to record are given a slot.

Students recording for auditions are given priority over students recording for their personal archives.

Cello Choir and Chamber Music

ACI Cello Choir and Chamber Music pieces must be rehearsed before camp. You will receive music by email by July 1. Rehearsal marks are given and you will be required to submit rehearsal videos via YouTube no later than July 15. Students who are unprepared will be excused from Choir rehearsal and performances.

ACI Chamber Music

Students will play in large or small ensembles in addition to the Cello Choir. Chamber pieces are assigned by June 1. Students must submit rehearsal recordings to coaches by July 1.

Piano Coaching

All students will receive piano coaching during the week.

WESTMINSTER UNIVERSITY HOUSING

Students 13 and up will be housed in the university dorms (apartment style housing with individual bedrooms), and meals will be provided.   Students will be housed with same aged-participants and with a 4:1 student to chaperone ratio.

Students 12 and under are welcome to apply, but they must have a parent attending with them for the full program and arrange their own housing.

Students need to bring linens and a towel for their dorm apartment.
